FASAE SoCal was established in late 1994 by 21 founding members as a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization. Their collective work enabled the SoCal Chapter to become the third accredited FASAE chapter.

FASAE SoCal is registered as a 501(c)(6) corporation. The FASAE SoCal Education Foundation serves as the official scholarship foundation and is registered as a 501(c)(3).
The chapter continues to grow through members who promote professional advancement, community service, and opportunities for future architects and engineers.
